Curatorial Statement
There is always something we are waiting for. The weekend. A holiday A vacation. A celebration. We can become so focused on the moment we have marked as important that the days in between begin to feel like they are simply leading us somewhere . Our fall exhibition, While We Wait, brings together new work by Crescent Hill Gallery’s featured artists and showcases a wide range of styles and mediums. The exhibition is about noticing what is already around us, the different textures or sheens of a surface, the sun rays through the tree branches, a particular colour or shape catching our attention. These moments may seem insignificant but taken together they make up the rhythms of daily life.
The works featured in While We Wait encourage us to pause and take a closer look at what might typically pass us by.
Life does not only happen on the days we circle on the calendar. It happens in the mornings we almost forget, the routes we know by heart, the changing shadows, and the quiet moments.
Perhaps the moments we are waiting for are already here, quietly unfolding while we wait.
With this new 2026 fall art show and exhibition of original works, we hope to spark the imagination of our collectors and offer them the opportunity to support Canadian artists and small businesses.
