Back after two and a half years, Crescent Hill Gallery will be hosting an opening event for the return of their fabulous Fall Exhibition! Many of the artists will be present to speak to their new work. Come out to our most anticipated event of the year and celebrate being together again with great art and great conversation.
Fall 2022 Innovation in Contemporary Art Exhibition Curatorial Statement:
{ INNOVATE! }
verb. to make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, etc.
For this iteration of our annual fall group exhibition, I wanted to draw attention to the innovation of our brilliant artists over the past couple of years. It goes without saying that the last two years have been difficult for all of us in many complex ways. We have all experienced loneliness, helplessness and in some cases, heartbreak through these trying times creating a shared experience with almost every person on this planet.
Artists are innovators by nature. They are constantly experimenting and looking for new and fresh lenses through which to tell a story or project a message; they are the storytellers of our time. I have found it remarkable to watch our artists, these brilliant individuals, use this time to reflect on their practice and comment on and contribute to the fabric of our communities. Our artists discovered a myriad of ways to express themselves in their work and connect with their audience. With this exhibition, I hope to recognize and advocate for their efforts as creators and their innovation as artists. Innovation is our chance to consider our path from new and fresh perspectives.
Please join us Friday, September 30th from 6-9 pm at the opening event of {INNOVATE!} The artwork at this event will be new original works by the participating artists and will go live online during the opening. We will also be introducing the work of our four newest artists: Paige Ring, Mishel Schwartz, Lee Munn and Eleanor Lowden. This will be a brilliant first look at new pieces for our collectors in attendance. Many of the artists will be at the show to speak to you and discuss the new pieces.
