Biography: Lucie Boucher

Lucie Boucher was born in 1973, in the town of Charny, near Quebec. From a young age, Lucie showed an avid interest in drawing and painting and grew up in an environment where creativity and innovation were strongly encouraged.

Her twin sister, Marie-Claude, is now an established artist and her brother, Guy Boucher, is known throughout the NHL as a very innovative coach. Both relationships with her siblings provide her with a constant source of inspiration for her work and the world of hockey is now often portrayed in her paintings.

Lucie’s artistic abilities are mainly self-taught and her passions are multiple and vary from science, history and archeology to arts and sports. She studied Immunology and Microbiology at McGill University and is currently doing her Master’s degree in Science Education. After a brief career in the biotechnology industry and an ongoing career in teaching and tutoring science and mathematics to young children and adolescents, her need to create and reach people with her art keeps resurfacing. Her varied interests are reflected in the wide range of subjects she explores in her art. The common thread throughout her work is undeniably people as she is inspired by capturing human emotions in a timeless moment. Nostalgia is an underlying theme that captivates and fuels her imagination.
