Painters entertain at gallery

Mississauga News, October 22 2011

Crescent Hill Gallery's latest show "Expressions of Good Taste" featured works by a variety of artists and mediums, along with painter Marie-Claude Boucher working on-site.

Crescent Hill Gallery was alive with artists last night.
For the first time, the Erin Mills area gallery invited some of its participating artists to take part in a live painting demonstration.

As guests enjoyed a glass of wine and perused the newest works the gallery has to offer, artists Marie-Claude Boucher and Harold Braul painted new pieces much to the delight of guests.

"We've never done anything like this before, so it's pretty exciting," said gallery director Megan Sinnett. "It's a sneak peek into the creative process."
In addition to the live demonstration, artists Maya Eventov, Bob Arrigo and Emilija Pasagic were at the gallery to discuss their new works.

The show itself continues until the end of November.

Artists expose creative process

Mississauga News, October 18 2011

Patrons and painters crowded the Crescent Hill Gallery on Friday night for the 12th annual "Evening With the Artists". Besides the art on the walls, attendees enjoy the glass bowl creations of David Thai.

Crescent Hill Gallery is shaking things up for the opening of its annual fall exhibition this Friday.

For the first time, the Erin Mills area gallery has invited some of its participating artists to take part in a live painting demonstration. As guests enjoy a glass of wine and peruse the newest works the gallery has to offer, artists Marie-Claude Boucher and Harold Braul will paint new pieces right before their eyes.

"We've never done anything like this before, so it's pretty exciting," said gallery director Megan Sinnett. "It's a sneak peek into the creative process."
Friday's opening runs from 7-10 p.m.

In addition to the live demonstration, artists Maya Eventov, Bob Arrigo and Emilija Pasagic will be at the gallery to discuss their new works. As well, the gallery has partnered with gourmet cooking store Epicure to bring in Chef Brenda Kwong Hing for a cooking display.

On Saturday, Arrigo, Boucher and Eventov will be at the gallery from noon-4 p.m.

"Maya Eventov is a world-renowned Canadian artist who we have worked with for over 15 years now and our clients are very excited that we're having her back into the gallery for this show," said Sinnett. "Her presence always brings out a large crowd."

The show itself continues until the end of November.
